It has become clear the New York Yankees need to make an addition at starting pitcher.
The news of Gerrit Cole’s elbow injury did not come back as they hoped.
It has been reported that Cole will miss the next 1-2 months.
So the Yankees are expected to be aggressive in acquiring another starter.
One name they have had talks about is Dylan Cease of the Chicago White Sox.
According to Talkin’ Yanks, the White Sox have a clear group of players they want back from New York.
On the list are Will Warren, Oswald Peraza, and Chase Hampton, to name a few.
When the Yankees spoke with the White Sox about Dylan Cease a while back, among the players the White Sox asked for were Will Warren, Chase Hampton, Oswald Peraza, Clayton Beeter and Everson Pereira

The Yankees have much more incentive to get a deal done with the news about Cole.
Their starting rotation may be a serious issue as we enter the regular season.
New York will have to rely on Marcus Stroman and Carlos Rodon for the first few months.
From what we have seen from Rodon recently, that would be a mistake.
If the Yankees are serious about contending for a World Series they will get another quality starter.
Meanwhile, the White Sox are a team that is rebuilding.
So they have plenty of incentive to move Cease for a package of young players.
Anything that would speed up their rebuild will make their fans happy.
Trading Cease for a package of prospects would do just that.
Both of these teams should be looking to make a trade.
All that remains is both sides agreeing on fair compensation.
