Carolina Panthers second-year QB happy about all the new faces heading into 2024 NFL Draft

The Carolina Panthers won’t stop until second-year quarterback Bryce Young has enough help.

Carolina Panthers second-year QB happy about all the new faces heading into 2024 NFL Draft

That is why the franchise spent more than $150 million upgrading their offensive line and traded for wide receiver Diontae Johnson.

Now, as offseason workouts get underway, Young offered his approval of all the moves made as he eyes a season that will help him shed the bust label that has been thrown around since the conclusion of the Panthers’ 2-15 2023 year.

“It’s just great to get some new faces in here,” Young said after the first day of minicamp. “They are all hungry, and great players.”

What Young enjoyed about having all the new faces in the building was the injection of fresh ideas.

“There is a lot of new ideas, new energy, and new people,” Young said. “Right now the mission is just for all of that to come together, and for us to get on the same page and focus on turning this into a winning football team.”

For one, Young will be working with head coach Dave Canales, who helped rebuild Baker Mayfield’s career after the former top selection almost fell out of the league.

Part of resurrecting Young’s career is ensuring he has receivers that can get open – something that wasn’t there throughout the 2023 season.

Carolina is all but guaranteed to select a wide receiver during the 2024 NFL Draft. One player who believes they are an option is South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette, who recently said the Panthers want to draft him at No. 33.

With all the additions made by the Panthers, Young appears in high spirits. What has to come next is productive football. That, however, is still to be determined.
