The Los Angeles Chargers got quarterback Justin Herbert a new toy to play with.
The Chargers signed wide receiver DJ Chark to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The deal is reportedly worth up to $5 million.

Chark played 15 games for the Carolina Panthers last season. The 27-year-old wideout was first on the team in receiving touchdowns (5) and second on the team in receiving yards (525).
Chark’s best campaign was with the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2019. In his second year in the NFL, Chark caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards and a team-best eight touchdowns. He also earned his first Pro Bowl nod.
The Chargers have lost two of their top three receiving options from last season.
Chark joins a Chargers wide receiver room that includes Joshua Palmer and incoming sophomore Quentin Johnston. The Chargers also selected three wide receivers during last week’s NFL Draft, headlined by second-round pick Ladd McConkey out of Georgia.
