The Phoenix Suns will be without Grayson Allen after he rolled his ankle in the first half of play against the Miami Heat, per the team.
Allen previously had a minor knee scare in Friday’s game against the Indiana Pacers but ultimately pushed through. He was not on last night’s injury report against the Orlando Magic.
Prior to the game, Suns coach Frank Vogel spoke on having Allen in the lineup as opposed to going to a bigger look:
“You think about it, but I really like our lineup. Grayson Allen is the one guy, if you’re going to change it to be bigger, that’s the spot, but he’s been so good for us, it’s not even a thought on my mind,” he said via AZ Republic’s Duane Rankin.
Allen landed awkwardly on Josh Okogie’s foot after contesting a shot on defense. Allen quickly reached for his right ankle and hobbled away before being subbed off.
Allen has emerged as a key starter for the Suns since arriving via trade from the Milwaukee Bucks prior to the start of the season. This season. he’s averaging 13.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per night.
The Suns approached tonight on a two-game losing streak. Eric Gordon is expected to take his place in the lineup.
