The 26-year-old hit the ground running in his debut with the New York Knicks, with 17 points, six rebounds and two steals while knocking down 58.3% of his shots. But that was just the start, as Anunoby has made an impact on both ends of the floor, and the Knicks are 5-0 since the deal to acquire him from the Toronto Raptors.
Anunoby also made some impressive NBA history following his fifth game as a member of the Knicks, becoming the first and only player ever to post a plus/minus of 100 or better in his first five games with a team.
The team’s most recent 112-84 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers was Anunoby’s most impressive offensive showing, as he scored 23 points while knocking down 4-of-6 attempts from beyond the arc and making 75% of his shots from the field.
The 6-foot-7 small forward/shooting guard has done a bit of everything for the Knicks since he was acquired along with Malachi Flynn and Precious Achiuwa in exchange for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and a 2024 second-round draft pick from the Detroit Pistons.
