The Ravens have a number of players who will hit free agency next month, and some other teams could show interest.
The Dallas Cowboys could be losing two running backs, as Tony Pollard – who just competed a season playing under the franchise tag – and Rico Dowdle will hit the open market in March.
One possible replacement for Pollard that could interest the Cowboys is Ravens running back Gus Edwards.
There are lots of other names that might garner more interest than Edwards as Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Austin Eckeler and D’Andre Swift will be hot names talked about during free agency.
But Edwards is a player who has shown vast improvement from year to year and has been durable in an otherwise injury-prone room.
After J.K. Dobbins went down for the season with an Achilles tear in the season opener, Edwards was able to jump in and rattle off 810 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the season. Edwards might be just the guy to put some physicality back in the rushing game after the departure of Ezekiel Elliott.
And Edwards could be of tremendous value as well. Spotrac.com thinks Edwards’ value on the open market is around $4.5 million – a virtual steal for the production he is capable of.
