Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills have been headed for a divorce for quite some time.
After having left Minnesota via trade to Buffalo in 2020, Diggs has enjoyed four of the best seasons of his career alongside Josh Allen and the Bills. Diggs made waves this past weekend by appearing to suggest he was open to a trade. This has happened before, as Diggs stirred up similar problems in the past before remaining in Buffalo.
Should Buffalo pull the trigger and finally send Diggs out of Western New York, where could he land?
Stefon Diggs Trade Destination #1: Arizona Cardinals
DeAndre Hopkins would know a thing or two about joining the Arizona Cardinals, and Stefon Diggs may opt to follow in the current Tennessee Titan’s steps. In his best season with the Cardinals in 2020, Hopkins hauled in 1407 yards through the air on 115 catches and caught six touchdowns. This was enough to receive All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods, but Hopkins struggled through the following few seasons with injuries.
To add Stefon Diggs to a roster that is sizing up both trade options for its 4th overall pick and to draft one of the top three receivers would help Arizona lean away from using the pick to take a receiver, and be far more open to listening to the potential King’s Ransom deals that may get thrown their way in the coming weeks. This comes after the Minnesota Vikings chose to prepare ammunition to trade into the top 5 selections.
Destination #2: Houston Texans

The Texans made further splashes to open Free Agency, to accompany their trade of the 23rd overall pick. They narrowly missed adding Keenan Allen before Allen was traded to Chicago. Stefon Diggs may be next on their list of targets.
C.J. Stroud’s rookie deal afforded Houston and Nick Caserio the brilliant opportunity to acquire talent left and right during the first week of Free Agency, and Houston may not be finished just yet. Following Chicago’s lead and trading for Stefon Diggs, then extending him with the cap space that still remains, would be a recipe for success for a team seeking to further challenge the AFC field in 2024.Ezoic
New York Giants Should Consider Diggs As Well
New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (86) gets ready to score a touchdown during a 24-point Giants first half, Sunday, January 7, 2024.
The aforementioned trade for Allen creates problems for the New York Giants. A team that has not seen even one 1000-yard receiver since 2018 possesses a 6th overall pick that has been rife for speculation at both the Quarterback and Wide Receiver positions.
Stefon Diggs has plenty of links to both Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen, considering he played under both the current Giants Head Coach and General Manager from 2020 to 2021. Daboll was Buffalo’s Offensive Coordinator for both of Diggs’s 2020 career season and his follow-up Pro Bowl appearance in 2021.
Even though the team parted ways with its 39th overall pick to get Brian Burns, and thus will not want to give up more draft selections, Daboll and Schoen should highly consider a reunion with their former star wideout, especially to aid the development of a rookie at the position, should the Giants choose to bring one in.
Honorable Mention: Remain with Bills
Buffalo Bill, Stefon Diggs
As mentioned previously, Diggs has fanned trade discussions before. He would ultimately choose to return to the Bills after having done so, and there is little reason to believe Buffalo would truly pull the trigger to have Diggs leave the team after his four excellent seasons to this point.
After all, Buffalo’s single goal remains to get this current iteration to a Super Bowl, and Stefon Diggs would remain a critical piece of the puzzle for the team to do so.
