Former Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown pokes fun at NFL Honors and CTE.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is not shy about posting controversial tweets. This morning, he posted yet another one that grabbed the attention of millions of people. What did Brown do? Read below to find out.
Antonio Brown Makes Up CTE Award
Antonio Brown tagged DE Chandler Jones in a tweet he posted this morning. The tweet contained a picture of Jones receiving a fake award from the NFL Honors last night. Awards such as Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and NFL MVP were given out. Brown’s award was “CTE Recipient of the Year” which you can see here.
Antonio Brown and Chandler Jones
Reviewing the tweet, you can see that Brown captioned it with “#CTESPN” and tagged Chandler Jones in the tweet. Well, there is a backstory to this. You see, Brown and Jones went viral when both suggested that they were going to make a podcast together. The subject of the podcast would revolve around proving that CTE is not real.
Jones made headlines a few weeks ago denying that CTE is real. On top of this, Brown has denied having CTE many times. Now, these two men seem to be playing into this with tweets like the above.
Sensitive Tweets
This is not Brown’s first rodeo when it comes to posting crazy tweets. He is notorious for this to the point where it is not that shocking anymore. Some of the most notable ones are Brown reacting to Russell Wilson getting benched along with attacking Michael Irvin and even separating NFL players by race.
It has gotten to the point where fans mock these tweets and start to speculate even more. However, as mentioned above, the shock factor is all but gone.
Chandler Jones’ NFL Career
Chandler Jones looks like his NFL career is winding down. He was cut by the Las Vegas Raiders early into the 2023 season. Jones is 33 years old, and he played in the NFL for 11 seasons from 2012-22.
So, how did Jones do during that stretch? He has 112 sacks, 34 forced fumbles, and an interception throughout his career. However, in 2022, he had just one forced fumble and 4.5 sacks. Now, that career is likely coming to an end, with a possibility of starting a podcast with Antonio Brown.
