Klay Thompson is trying to reel his emotions and issues in after Steve Kerr talked to him. It turns out that his negative energy was affecting him and his team night after night.

Steve Kerr Wants Klay Thompson To End His Legacy On A Solid Note
It’s no secret that Thompson’s performance during this season is a waning one. However, the Golden State Warriors head coach just wants him to enjoy the last few years of his career with positive energy.
Luckily, this has helped the Splash Brother relax more while lessening his pressure, which he talks about in Anthony Slater‘s video of the postgame conference.
As he recounts his blessings, this conversation seems to have grounded the shooting guard. He claims he’s forgotten how lucky he’s gotten to be in the position he is now.
“Steve and I had a great conversation yesterday. That helped me relax a lot. Sometimes I forget just how successful and how lucky I’ve been to be a part of championship teams and All-Star games and gold medals.”

He opens up about wanting to return to these glory days. However, as difficult as it is to grasp, everyone ages. It doesn’t matter how athletic or great you are; time catches up.
Even Thompson knows this fact as he admits that it is the last chapter in his career.
“You wanna get back to that level so badly you could kinda get in your own way. Rather than forcing it, we had a conversation about us enjoying this last chapter of my career and how lucky I am to still be playing this game.”

Thompson Is Down But Not Out
Kerr talked some sense into him by asking him to use this energy to influence the team positively. Thompson needs to use his experience and competitiveness to help mentor and improve the younger cast on the roster.
“In being a better mentor for the young guys, leading by example, having my energy right in every game. He helped me realize I do have negative energy and how it affects the team in a poor manner. That just helped me change my whole mindset.”

Now, fans can look forward to a more precise and calm-minded Thompson as he’s more focused on being a better influence on the team. He’s trying to give up the mindset of chasing the stats, which has been detrimental to him and his teammates.
“We had a great conversation that just helped me change my whole mindset and forget about shooting splits, or points per games or All-Star games. Just to enjoy being in this Warriors uniform and appreciate what we built.”

This attitude change might help with his conversation during his stay with the Warriors. However, since he turned down an extension from the team last summer, his tenure in the Bay might end.
Do you think the Warriors will give Thompson another offer?
