Star gymnast\u00a0Simone Biles\u00a0has revealed having suffered an emotional breakdown due to the backlash her husband, Jonathan Owens, received for claiming he did not know who she was before they began dating.<\/p>\n

Owens, an\u00a0NFL\u00a0safety who joined the\u00a0Chicago Bears\u00a0after a season with the Green Bay Packers, revealed he wasn\u2019t aware of who Biles was during an interview on \u2018The Pivot\u2019 late in 2023.<\/p>\n

He also declared he was \u201cthe catch,\u201d recalling she drove hours to meet him for the first time.<\/p>\n

The comments prompted a wave of criticism and abuse, which Biles admits got to her.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne night I broke down and I\u2019m like, \u2018Why are you guys talking about my husband like this? You don\u2019t know him. You don\u2019t know who he is and if anybody\u2019s met him, you know he\u2019s the sweetest guy, will do anything for anybody.<\/em>\u2018\u201d<\/p>\n

Nearly 95 percent of Americans never tuned in to the\u00a0Olympics\u00a0in 2021, and there are way more of them who don\u2019t watch the games than those who do.<\/p>\n

As for Owens, he was still in college when the gymnast shot to fame and didn\u2019t care for the Olympics at all. Of course, he cares now.<\/p>\n

Still, fans who keep abreast got on his back over his comments despite Biles confirming what he said and asking them to lay off him.<\/p>\n

Simone Biles Reveals Jonathan Owens Only Recently Applied For His First Passport<\/h2>\n

According to Simone Biles, her husband only recently acquired a passport to support her at the 2024 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, in Paris I think they will do a beautiful job and he doesn\u2019t travel overseas too much,<\/em>\u201d Biles noted. \u201cHe had to get a passport \u2013 he never had a passport before<\/em>.\u00a0I\u2019m excited for him to see the Olympics because football\u2019s not in the Olympics and he always says it\u2019s the hardest sport, it\u2019s universal. So, why is it not in the Olympics?<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n
