New York Giants 2024 Draft Plans’ Considered ‘Worst Kept Secret’ In The NFL

The New York Giants apparently know exactly what they want to do in this years NFL Draft. The only problem is that everyone else in the league knows their plans too. According to new reports, the Giants plans for this years draft are the leagues worst kept secret. This plan does not look good at all for quarterback Daniel Jones.

Per SNY’s Connor Hughes, the’ secret’ that everyone in the league now knows is that the Giants want to trade up to draft a quarterback.

“The worst kept secret of the NFL Combine might not just be the Giants’ desire to select a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft, but their willingness to trade up to go get a quarterback in this year’s draft,” Hughes said. “The problem, though, is just is there going to be one for them to go up there and take?”

This is not great news for Daniel, as he is now clearly on the hot seat with the team making plans to move off from the quarterback that they broke the bank for just last off season.

How High Can The Team Trade Up?

NFL REPORT: J.J. McCarthy Could Go As High As No. 2 In 2024 Draft - Gridiron Heroics

The top three picks are almost sure to be quarterbacks across the board, and it does not seem like any of those teams are willing to move off from their pick. If any of them do the Giants could try to make a major push to enter the top 3 picks. If they are not able to however, they will have to look in the middle of the first round for a new quarterback.

J.J. McCarthy could be available at the exact picks that they can trade up for, and he would probably be the best quarterback available in the middle of the first round. There are numerous solid quarterback prospects in this years draft, some would say the best the NFL has seen in many years. But if the Giants can’t manage to trade up early, they may have to look later in the first round to replace Daniel Jones.
